My name is Joseph Fincher. I began my teaching career in teh 2010-11 school year with Goose Creek CISD in Baytown, Texas. I was privileged to work for that district for three years, until I joined the Houston ISD family for the 2013-14 school year. I have been teaching at Stephen F. Austin High School since that time. It has been my great honor to see the students that have entered my classroom leave with a better understanding of the English language, reading, and writing, when they leave my class.
This is my goal, each year - to ensure that my students are better prepared for their future courses, whether they are moving on to another grade level in high school or off to a college or university. I endeavor to make sure taht each student leaves my classroom with the skills he/she will need to communicate the wonderful ideas and unique perspectives they bring in written and spoken form.
It is my hope that each of my student's parent(s)/guardian(s) take advantage of the "open door" policy I hold for my classroom.
